Have you tried diet after diet with no success?  Or maybe,  you’ve been exercising non stop and not really seeing any changes or have reached a plateau?  There is a very good reason for that…  maybe, just maybe, you haven’t yet made the connection between strong nutrition and exercise!

Demystifying Carbohydrates

I was described as being a Porsche!  Yeah, that sweet fast engine… Ok, so the conversation wasn’t about that, it was about expensive and high maintenance.  Go figure!  However, the way I see it, high maintenance usually = performance and power!  I like that description and I will own it!  What does that have to do with carbohydrates?  well, all high maintenance and expensive cars need fuel in the gas tank to get from A to B!  The quality of the fuel is what will keep it performing!  This is where carbohydrates come in…

You Have to Fuel to Burn…

A large body of scientific evidence shows that diet and exercise work hand in hand to promote fitness and physical performance.  One reason for this symbiotic relationship is the energy equation.  When you expend more calories than you consume, you burn body fat and build lean body mass, but because you need to energize to exercise, every calorie you eat must be of the highest quality to get you over the hump.
