We have this misconception that peanut butter, milk products, and grains are a source of protein. The truth is, they do contain some protein, but not enough to be considered a strong protein source. It adds to our protein intake in our meal, of course…
A strong protein source is counted when we are eating an actual protein, as in meat, fish, poultry, legumes and of course, protein supplements like whey or soya protein powder.
Industry uses media to hype up the protein element in their foods. They are not lying, but they are skewing up the image. We feel good giving our children those foods, and for very good reasons, they are good for us!
