Meal Tracking VS Journaling

Have you tried to track what you eat in a day?  Have you tried keeping a journal of all of your foods and activities?  Bothersome huh?

It’s all about the perspective!  I have to agree that it’s a tedious task… Most of us start and just forget about it as we go along… why?  Well, it’s tiresome!!! And it’s accountability!! And well… ugh!!!

Ok,, let’s take a good look at this… First of all, tracking is not the same as journaling.

Menu Planning and Kitchen prep

Have you ever really stuck to your menu plan for the week?  Does life just get in the way?  Do you end up throwing food into the garbage?  If you have experienced any of this, know that you are not alone!

Menu planning is great to use for the budget, for time savers.  Only if you stick with it!  The truth about menu planning is that most of us have a life, and that means changes as the week goes on!  Activities for the children, last minute plans with friends… life happens, let’s face it!!

I’m Tired of Eating…

I was at the grocery store, I heard a woman say to the butcher:  I’m tired of eating, do you have anything new?  what she’s really saying is:  I’m bored and unspired… been doing the same old thing for too long…

Here’s the problem.. in our busy lives, we tend to make the same meals over and over again until finally, we get into a rut.  The family is bored, we’re uninspired, the same old battles with the children…

I hear it all the time… those words we use to explain away our excuses for not trying to make healthy changes in our lives, mostly: 

 

‘I just can’t afford it!’  Hogwash!!!  Of course we can.  Making changes starts at home, in your fridge, at the way we look at food, how we choose to prepare it, at the time we dedicate to ourselves… it’s easier and cheaper than you think.  Take notice of what is going into your mouth and be accountable to yourself.
