Meet Maryse It's not every day you meet someone who can change your life. Maryse Senécal is a trainer, nutritional counselor and certified orthotherapist. Her fascination with the body's movement and engineering systems, lead her to graduate from the Canadian College of Orthotherapy. Her journey continued as lead trainer at Ottawa's premier training facility. She created Myo-precision to combine her disciplines (training, therapy and nutrition) and offer this expertise to her clients. “I became an orthotherapist to learn more about our body's engineering system—to understand how we move, why we move and the cause of injuries. I graduated from the Canadian College of Orthotherapy in 2004 and ran the College clinic while managing student's clinical hours and leading study groups for a year. But I wanted to know more…” Opening her own clinic made her quickly realize that therapy and muscle rehabilitation weren't enough to sustain a healthy body. In order to be healthy, we also have to become strong. To explore this aspect of health, she hired the lead master trainer in Ottawa, Tony Greco — trainer to numerous pro-hockey athletes from the NHL. Through her rigorous workouts three times a week, Maryse rebuilt her body and became his lead trainer in a major sports/health facility, running the athletic conditioning program while continuing her own conditioning training under his tutelage. After hiring a therapist to deal with the aches and pains from intense training, she recognized that the unique missing component she could offer clients was the link between training and therapy. Myo-precision was created based on the premise of becoming one resource for training, nutrition and therapy—connecting the three needed components in becoming, healthy, happy and strong. |
